After setting up a travel agency partnership, two entrepreneurs – American Clark Varin and Ugandan Moses Muwanguzi – founded microloans initiative Muvule Financing, dedicated to growing the Ugandan economy from the bottom up. Their approach is based on the principle that economic growth, powered by financial support to help local entrepreneurs and their businesses flourish, is the best way to alleviate poverty.
Muvule needed a strong digital presence to capture attention from potential investors so their impact in Uganda could be even greater, but there was no funding to create a website.
Their mission aligns so closely with Fontis’ belief that a better world is achieved by empowering individuals to succeed, that providing Muvule with in-kind skills and expertise was a second-nature decision.
After approving support through our Cascade gateway process, we built Muvule’s website, allowing them to secure the investment needed to scale up. The impact of this is huge. More entrepreneurs are growing their businesses thanks to the ability to access microloans, and people’s wealth and quality of life – including their health and education – is improved. It’s a wonderful initiative to support and we love the difference that it is making to so many.
